Hi there! My name is Gilbert Stoddard, and I'm from Juniper, New Brunswick, Canada, and presently live in Fredericton, New Brunswick,
Canada. I'm 37 years old, and currently have far too much time on my hands - hence, this website. :)
This website was originally created seven years ago for the sole purpose of entertaining me while I was in Toronto waiting for, and subsequently recovering
from, my double-lung transplant. I've continued to update it for two reasons - First, when I was going through the process of being listed for transplant,
there weren't many first-hand patient accounts of what to expect in terms of
recovering from surgery, side effects of the medications, and possible complications and treatment options. I'm hoping that this website will
serve as an information source on those very topics for those who now find themselves facing the prospects of undergoing a lung transplant.
Second, I wanted to keep a journal of my transplant adventure for myself. If I'm having a "down" day, I'll read what I've posted here, and I'm quickly reminded
of how fortunate I am. A lung transplant saved my life, and I am forever indebted to my donor and his family.
Clicking on the buttons to the left will bring up information on the
relevant topics.
I've heard that some people haven't been able to get the email link to work. This is probably
due to their Outlook or Outlook Express email client not being properly configured. If that is
the case, you can just manually type in my email address. It is
